diegetic sounds is any sound that can be either on screen or off screen depending on whatever its source is within the frame or outside the frame.
Non diegetic sound is not visible on the screen nor has been implied to be present in the action, for example narrators commentary and sound effects.

In this clip we hear diegetic and diegetic sound. In total we counted 18 diegetic sounds and 15 non-diegetic sounds. Here we see an equal spread of non-diegetic and diegetic sounds.

In this trailer we see a total of 19 diegetic sounds and 8 non-diegetic sounds. From this we can see more diegetic than non-diegetic.

In Emelie there are 42 diegetic sounds whereas there are 15 non-diegetic sounds. This is different from the other 2 trailers we have watched so far. it is not equal, there is a lot more dialog that is shown on screen because it is a dramatic, tense trailer.
