All films need storyboards to show what types of angles they will be using and what is exactly happening in that shot and what they expect it to look like. There are lots of different storyboards as some have more shots than others. All storyboard need to have well drawn drawings so it is obvious what it needs to look like and the angles so they know where they are filming from.

This is are examples of a bad storyboard:
Picture
This is a bad storyboard because there is no writing explaining what the shot is about and there is nothing to show what they angles they need to film with. Although the images are good and well drawn and there is a lot of detail in them, having no writing doesn't show the directors exactly what they need so this storyboard would be pointless.

This storyboard is a bit better than the first but it still isn't as detailed as it needs to be. The images again are good and it explains which shot is which but it doesn't have any information at all about the angles the shots are being taken at.
Here is an example of a good storyboard:
Picture
This is a good storyboard as it has the shots used and then text explaining what is in that scene too. Also it has clear photos that show whether is is a close up or a long shot and clearly shows what the scene is meant to look like.
