Question 4
Question 4 - What did you learn from audience feedback?
some of the comments we received from our trailer on social media were:
With the feedback we are able to see what people have enjoyed and what people disliked and would improve to our trailer. from some of our comments off social media friends we are able to see that they enjoyed 'the go in sane bit' 'motion back ground for titles' 'simple concept' 'lovely shots'. But the negative comments such as 'just be careful that people don't start getting all up in your faces about the mental health stigma. You know how easily offended people are haha' this highlights issues that we didn't even think of when creating our trailer, so we will now have to check and go through to make sure that people don't get offended and if they will be we may have to include this information somewhere that people might be offended when watching. Another comment that may help us to improve the trailer would be 'pace changes to quickly' we could reconsider to change the pace of the fast bit so people will be able to see our shots more clearly.
For our trailer we did some research and asked people around the ages of 17-18. the reason why we had chosen these ages is because these are the ages that our audience are going to be so it would be irrelevant getting feedback from someone who doesn't like horror or aren't old enough as we aren't trying to sell our film to them. Most horror films are usually rated a 15 due to the violence, strong language and discriminatory behaviour they can display and this is the age above that we have chosen to interview. Also our horror film wouldn't be appropriate for young children to see as they are scenes that could make them feel disturbed and scared.
We interviewed
These are the questions we asked;
Do you like horror?
Have you watched our trailer?
Did you enjoy it?
If you did, why? If you didn't, why not?
Could it be improved? How?
Would you watch it in cinema?
From these interviews we learnt that the people we asked enjoyed horror apart from one, which meant we were able to see what someone who doesn't like horror thought of our trailer, he did not like it which wasn't to our surprise. from the people who did like horror we learnt that they all enjoyed our trailer because it captured the element of surprise and tension. Also the way we filmed the film from a first person perspective was liked as it was able to see the story from the girls perspective. They found the story line realistic and they loved the ending with the jump scare.
The way that they would improve it would be to slow down some of the clips, this we should take into consideration as we got the same comment from the social media sites. another of our interviewees wanted to see more action of the girls in the asylum, but this was a reason why we didn't add to much because we wanted them to be captured by the trailer for them to watch the film to see what happens in the asylum and they wanted more clips of us being possessed. Another interviewee would improve the font of the titles as she found them unclear.
All of the people interviewed that enjoy horror said that they would want to watch our trailer in cinema showing that our trailer must of captured them and they want to find out more of what happens in the actual film and must enjoy the storyline.

In conclusion, we have had positive feedback towards our trailer this included having lovely shots, good ending and good effects. We also received feedback which will help us to improve our trailer such as more writing, and a build build up of music.
